NSWCCC | On Friday, 32 students proudly represented St Mary’s at the NSWCCC Netball Championships in Penrith. It was a wonderful day, with the girls showcasing not only great netball skills but also excellent sportsmanship, behaviour, and energy. The Junior team, coached by Lauren Kent, had an outstanding run, making the finals and finishing second overall. The grand final was incredibly close, with St Mary’s just missing out 10–12 after two quick goals from Caroline Chisholm College in the final minute. The Intermediate team, coached by Donna Fearon, narrowly missed out on a place in the finals after a one-goal loss to Caroline Chisholm College in their semi-final. Similarly, the Senior team, coached by Kristy Baldwin, fell short of a place in the finals by one goal to Monte. We are very proud of all the students who represented St Mary’s on the day. A special congratulations goes to our Junior team, who came home with a silver medal achieving a medals placing two years in a row! #StMarysPride #NSWCCCNetball #TeamworkInAction #SilverSuccess

SEASON OF CREATION | September 1 is a day where the Christian Churches across the world give thanks for creation and praise God as Creator. In 2015, Pope Francis called it the World Day of Prayer for Care for Creation. Our Orthodox community have celebrated it since Patriarch Dimitrios in 1998 began a Day of Creation. Now it continues for a month, globally as the Season of Creation for all Christian Churches, concluding October 4, the feast of Francis of Assisi, patron saint of ecology. This year, 2025, marks the 800th anniversary of his iconic “Canticle of the Creatures”, making it another good reason to celebrate this feast. The Polding Learning Centre created this beautiful display to keep before us the 2025 Season of Creation. Please join at home celebrating this month in discussion and action to care for all creation. #SeasonOfCreation #CareForCreation #FaithAndEcology #CanticleOfTheCreatures

VINNES STAYOUT | Last Friday evening, 61 of our students took part in the St Mary’s Vinnies StayOut. From 4:30–9:00pm, they created snack packs and non-sew blankets to donate, listened to a guest speaker from Vinnies, and spent time outside in the cold to reflect on what it can be like for those without a safe place to sleep. The night’s theme was all about raising awareness of homelessness and standing in solidarity with those in need. We are so proud of our students for their compassion and commitment. #VinniesStayOut #StudentsForChange #CompassionInAction #EndHomelessnes
