BIOLOGY FIELD STUDY | Last week, our Year 11 Biology students swapped the classroom for the coastline, heading to the rocky shore of Sandon Point, Bulli.
Guided by the Royal National Park Environmental Education Centre, the excursion brought Modules 3 and 4 of the Year 11 Biology syllabus to life. Students investigated Biological Diversity through the study of adaptations, and explored Ecosystem Dynamics by measuring the abundance and distribution of species. They also considered future ecosystem scenarios, discussing the potential impacts of climate change on this unique rocky shore environment.
From identifying local species to practising fieldwork techniques, students gained hands-on experience that deepened their understanding of how living things interact with their environment.
A big thank you to our wonderful facilitators for an inspiring day of learning!
