NATIONAL SWIMMING SUCCESS | We are incredibly proud of the achievements of Ivy Miller Year 12 student and London Campbell in Year 8 at the School Sport Australia Swimming Championships! Ivy Miller has had an outstanding meet, winning 3 individual medals: • Gold in the 50m, 100m & 200m Backstroke • Two Golds and three Silver in Relay Events Ivy also came within just 0.4 seconds of breaking the Australian All Schools record in the 100m Backstroke. Incredible swimming and St Mary’s are so proud of her. London Campbell also impressed, earning: • Silver in the 200m Individual Medley • Silver in the 200m Breaststroke • Bronze in the 400m Individual Medley An amazing effort from both of our St Mary’s stars, proudly representing their school and state on the National stage. REIMAGINED | The Year 11 Drama class studied ‘The Elements of Production’ and the various roles involved in putting on a theatrical show as part of their class work. The performance of ‘The Government Inspector’ was a result of their exploration of the play, interpreting their own collective directorial vision to transport the script - originally published in 1836 and set in Russia - to now be a New York Jazz setting. It was a joy to collaborate with such dedicated students and the comedy of errors was only enhanced with the wonderful addition of music. Selecting songs to bring out the themes and characters of the play and working with the exceptional band made up of students and teachers was a wonderful experience. #Year11Drama #TheGovernmentInspector #JazzTheatre #CreativeCollaboration

AUSTRALIAN CHAMPIONS | Rewind to Term 1, where students in Years 7-10 participated in World Maths Day. Millions of students from around the world compete, calculate, and celebrate mathematics. Year 8 students from St Mary Star by the Sea College who participated this year, placed 1st in Australia. What an incredible achievement! A massive shoutout to our Mathematics teachers who encouraged our girls in this year’s competition.
