NAIDOC WEEK | This week, our community celebrated NAIDOC Week, a time to recognise and honour the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. It’s a week that invites all Australians to reflect on the strength, resilience, and contributions of the world’s oldest continuous cultures — cultures that are still alive, evolving, and thriving today.
On Thursday morning, students watched a special NAIDOC episode of the Saltwater Yarns Podcast in their Tutor Group. During lunchtime, students were invited to try some delicious homemade damper and freshly brewed bush tea, made from native Australian plants. These activities offered a unique opportunity for all students, especially our visiting students from Japan to learn, ask questions and participate in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Culture.
This week is also a reminder that we all have a role in walking together, with respect, truth, and unity.
