ART CLUB | Last Thursday, former St Mary's student Rachael Young (an artist with Down syndrome) along with her aid, Stephanie Rodden (also a College alumna and founder of Celebrate T21) facilitated a lunchtime art workshop with twenty-one of our Art Club students. The workshop was made possible thanks to a grant Rachael received. During the session, students were guided through the process of tracing found objects onto paper bookmarks and colouring them using paint pens. The activity was a great success and thoroughly enjoyed by all involved. Most meaningfully, the completed bookmarks have been donated to Celebrate T21 gift packs, which are sent to new parents of babies with Down syndrome. In addition, Stephanie kindly donated three of her Celebrate T21 photo books to the Polding Learning Centre. This experience was a beautiful reminder of the community spirit that makes St Mary's College so special.
