INDONESIA LANGUAGE TOUR | Our Indonesian language students enjoyed an amazing eight-day adventure over the school holidays, where they discovered a new world of culture, exotic culinary delights and history. Some of the highlights of the tour included…
- A jeep adventure to Mount Merapi volcano
- Visited Hamba, (a community project) and met some of the locals there
- A city tour on a bentor (motorised rickshaw) passing Jl Malioboro, visited the Sultan’s Palace for a dance performance and went on a guided tour of the Water Castle
- A cycling tour through Candirejo Village and paddy fields
- Guided walking tour of the world’s largest Buddhist Temple
- Visited a market to gather fresh ingredients (in Indonesian) for a cooking class, then prepared a national celebration dish for lunch - nasi tumpeng.
- Attended the First Friday mass at Ganjuran Church
- Tried the art of batik painting and strolled the historic alleyways of Kota Gede
- Attended a traditional dance and gamelan class
- Explored the stunning Prambanan Temple
