EUROPE 2025 | During the term break, 24 excited students embarked on the trip of a lifetime, travelling across Germany and Italy, discovering rich history, culture, and faith every step of the way.
The adventure begun in the medieval city of Nuremberg, with its storybook charm and profound history. From visiting the Nazi Rally Grounds and the Nuremberg Trials courtroom to walking through the haunting grounds of Buchenwald Concentration Camp, the experience deeply impacted our students, bringing historical lessons to life in unforgettable ways.
In Berlin, students explored important historical sites like the Topography of Terror, the Bunker Story, and the DDR Museum. Despite the emotional heaviness, the girls’ curiosity and empathy shone, with the guides often remarked on their impressive knowledge and thoughtful questions.
Next stop was Rome, where history, faith, and modern life collided in unforgettable ways. Students were privileged to visit the Vatican City, paying their respects to Pope Francis at St Peter’s Basilica, a truly historic moment. Students soaked in the atmosphere, writing postcards to families and purchasing rosary beads as keepsakes. Meeting and speaking with the Australian Cardinal, who wanted a photo with our students, was another special highlight.
Throughout our journey, the girls demonstrated maturity, kindness, and a genuine love of learning. As Pope Francis once said,
"Education is an act of love, an act of hope, a factor that humanises the world." (Spadaro, A. How Pope Francis sees education, 2021) Our Europe trip was a powerful testament to that spirit.
