NEW YORK | In June, Year 12 student Zawadi Philippa embarked on a solo adventure to New York for an incredible dance experience with the Joffrey Ballet School. Earlier this year, she auditioned and was accepted into all their summer programs, including those for dancers of the highest calibre. Zawadi chose the prestigious New York Pre-Professional Jazz and Contemporary summer intensive and received a 50% scholarship! For three weeks, Zawadi trained under the direction of Michael Waldrop, the artistic director, alongside phenomenal staff. Her days were packed with mock auditions, rehearsals, and mentoring from top professionals in contemporary and commercial dance. She met amazing people and grew immensely as a dancer. We’re thrilled to share that upon completing the program, Zawadi was accepted into their four-year training program in New York! GOLFING SISTERS | Congratulations to Mimi Thomsen, Year 9 and Lara Thomsen Year 11 being selected for the NSW All Schools Golf Team! At last week’s NSW All Schools Golf Championships, held at Moore Park Golf Course and The Coast Golf Course, our talented students showcased their skills in three rounds of intense competition. Here's how they performed: Mimi Thomsen: Round 1: 8th place, +6, 76 points Round 2: 5th place, +8, 72 points Round 3: 6th place, +11, 73 points Total: 221 points Lara Thomsen: Round 1: 15th place, +11, 81 points Round 2: 9th place, +11, 70 points Round 3: 3rd place, +9, 68 points Total: 219 points Their perseverance and commitment paid off, leading to their selection after a NSW All Schools selection trials playoff at The Coast Golf Course.
