NEW FACILITIES |Today, we officially opened our new hospitality kitchens, staff professional spaces, and flexible learning areas, creating a vibrant environment for education and growth. We began our ceremony with a heartfelt Acknowledgement of Country by our Year 12 Cultural Captain, Hannah Makotsvana, who honoured the Wodi Wodi people of the Dharawal Nation and paid tribute to the wisdom and resilience of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Our College Captain, Maya Chrostowski, warmly welcomed our distinguished guests, including Ms Alison Byrnes MP, Member for Cunningham, Lord Mayor of Wollongong, Gordon Bradbery AM, and others who have been instrumental in bringing this vision to life. Following a beautiful performance of the National Anthem by our College Chamber Choir, our Year 12 Liturgy Captains, Sienna De Battista and Jeslyn George, led us in a prayer and blessing. The ceremony concluded with the unveiling of a commemorative plaque and a guided tour of the new facilities.
ST Mary Star of the Sea College is immensely grateful to the Australian Government for their generous support in partly funding this project through the Capital Grants program. Thank you to all those who contributed to making this project a reality. We look forward to the new opportunities these spaces will bring.
