A DAY OF CULTURE, LEARNING AND CONNECTION | Yesterday, St Mary’s was thrilled to host “Celebration of Indonesia Day”. It was a remarkable occasion, we were honoured to welcome over 15 distinguished guests, students and representatives from various Indonesian organisations including Indonesian Consulate General, Pak Vedi Buana.
Indonesia Day aims to foster cultural exchange, promote language learning, and strengthen the bonds between our College and our Indonesian neighbours.
The Indonesian Consulate General, Bapak Vedi Kurnia Buana, and Consulate Cultural Consuls conducted workshops and activities that showcase Indonesian culture. These include playing the traditional 'Angklung' instrument, creating batik art, sharing folk stories, and demonstrating 'Pencak Silat' martial arts and cultural dance.
Our students also participated in a range of authentic language activities, allowing them to apply their Indonesian language skills in real-life situations. A delicious Indonesia lunch was provided and students enjoyed a variety of entertaining Indonesian games and trivia.
A wonderful day had by all!
