ANSTO | The Year 12 Physics Class made their way to Lucas Heights on Thursday the 1st of June to visit the OPAL Research Reactor at ANSTO. The girls were able to tour ANSTO to view the Reactor, the Neutron Scattering Centre, the Centre for Accelerator Science and the ANSTO Nuclear Medicine Facility. The tour provided the Physics class with hands on experiences to develop a deeper understanding on key concepts for the HSC course. The girls had a wonderful day and learned a lot of information about how ANSTO applies the Physics understanding they are learning in the classroom to help the scientific community with research and provide lifesaving treatments.

CONGRATULATIONS | Grace Tracey (Year 9) and Ashleigh Barlow (Year 9), who were both selected in the NSW All Schools AFL team today. Both students have been attending the NSW All Schools trials in Albury over the last two days as a member of the NSWCCC AFL team. This selection places both girls at the very top of this sport out of all students from all schools in the state. What is even more impressive is that Grace Tracey was named player of the tournament which unofficially ranks Grace as the best 15-year-old AFL player in NSW, An incredible achievement! Grace also represented NSWCCC in netball, and was subsequently selected in the NSW All Schools Netball team. Two make two NSW All Schools teams in a year is a phenomenal achievement. She is a genuine star in the making!
