NATIONAL SORRY DAY | Today, at St Mary's College, we began the Athletics Carnival with a meaningful tribute to recognise and commemorate Sorry Day.
Hannah Makotsvana delivered an Acknowledgment to Country and reminded us for First Nations people dispossessed of land, family and culture, and who may be suffering from transgenerational trauma, this is not a day of joy, but sorrow.
In acknowledging the ongoing pain of the Stolen Generations, the College came together to support healing and understanding with a minute silence and prayer.
Today, we stand together in support of healing and understanding. Today reminds us of the importance of unity, respect, and embracing the diversity that enriches our College community.
St. Mary's College stands with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander brothers and sisters, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment. Together, we strive for a future built on reconciliation, understanding, and justice.
