STANDING TOGETHER AGAINST DOMESTIC VIOLENCE | Last Saturday, students of the Interact Club at St Mary Star of the Sea College joined Fairy Meadow Rotarians, alongside Interact member Kerrie Guillaume and members of Zonta, in a walk from Fairy Meadow Surf Club to Stuart Park to promote “No to Domestic Violence & Yes to Respectful Relationships.” We were honoured to walk in solidarity with the Lord Mayor of Wollongong, Tanya Brown, representatives from SAHSSI, the Rotary District President, and members of the NSW Police Force. This walk followed a week of meaningful action at St Mary’s. On Thursday morning, our Interact Club members handed out purple ribbons and information cards to students as they arrived at school. During lunchtime, a number of students completed the Lang Park circuit to further raise awareness. All of these initiatives aimed to shine a light on this very important issue—one that has been a focus not only within our SMC community this week but also across the wider Wollongong area. We are incredibly proud of our Interact students and their dedication to promoting respect, safety, and positive relationships. Thank you to everyone who participated in and supported this vital cause. #RespectfulRelationships #EndDomesticViolence #InteractClub #CommunityAction #SMCProud

YEAR 9 D&T | In their most recent assessment, the Year 9 Design and Technology students demonstrated an impressive range of practical skills, spanning CAD/CAM technologies to traditional woodworking, as they undertook the challenge of redesigning the classic board game Monopoly. Students selected their own themes, allowing them the freedom to be as imaginative and creative as they wished. Their projects included the manufacture of a timber frame and base, a game board, counters, money, instructions and any additional components needed to ensure their redesigned game functioned as desired. The girls produced outstanding work and should be very proud of their achievements! #Design&Technology #D&T #stmaryswollongong
