COLLEGE EXPO | This Thursday, 9 March 2023. Bookings essential via our website www.stmarys.nsw.edu.au
NSW REPRESENTATIVE | Montana Doubell Year 11 student recently attended the local Government Awards and was recognised for representing NSW in Triathlon and AFL, presented by Anna Watson MP (Shellharbour). Montana had an outstanding year in sport in 2022 and it is fitting to see her acknowledged for her hard work and accomplishments in sport. Her heavy training and competition commitments mean she has to be very organised to manage her education and study workloads. Congratulations Montana.
150 CELEBRATION MASS | The 150th Celebration Mass held at the WIN Entertainment Centre Wollongong launched this significant milestone with over 3500 guests which included a large number of Good Samaritan Sisters and numerous special guests. Feelings of joy, pride and gratitude were palpable as the celebration began with a procession of all the Catholic Primary Schools student representatives alongside St Mary’s student leadership. This was followed by a poignant dramatisation of the history of the College by our drama students which led to the Entrance Procession and Mass celebrated by Fr Sean Cullen, and con-celebrated by Fr Pat Faherty and Fr James Arblaster. This was the first of our significant events planned to mark our 150th anniversary. There is a Gala Ball in May where a specially commissioned social history of the College, ‘Saltwater Hearts’ will be launched, the erection of a statue of St Mary Star of the Sea, our namesake, a Grand Reunion for all our Alumnae in August and sprinkled in amongst all of this, is the ongoing daily celebrations of all things St Mary’s. Tickets to the Gala Ball can be purchased via https://events.humanitix.com/st-mary-star-of-the-sea-college-150-gala-ball Images by Giovanni Portelli Photography
