GUEST SPEAKER | Jessica Todd 2010 SMC Alumnae who has certainly carried her Love of Learning through her career! Today senior science students were inspired by hearing about Jessica's journey post school. She is currently finishing her PhD in Aerospace Engineering at MIT in the United States, where she researches robotics for extreme environments, like the deep ocean or the surface of Mars. Jessica has travelled all over the world to test her robots, from the Arctic to the Caribbean. Since leaving St Mary’s, Jessica studied a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Sydney, completed a Masters in Space Systems at MIT, tested robots on the International Space Station, interned at NASA, travelled to Antarctica as part of the Homeward Bound leadership project, and spent two weeks as a simulation Mars astronaut in the deserts of Utah. #scienceweek #loveoflearning #Astronaut #Science #aerospace #engineering #Alum2010

TELEPHONE OUTAGE | St Mary's telephone system is currently offline due to a power outage today. We are running on limited capacity so your patience would be much appreciated when calling (02) 4228 6011.
HOCKEY | On Thursday the 11th of August, St Mary's participated in the Wollongong Catholic School’s hockey carnival. Over the course of the day the team played 3 games against Corpus Cristy and St Josephs. The Grand Final tested both teams nerves but St Mary's wrestled most of the momentum and broke through with three big goals ensuring the overall victory. The team supported each other during the day and were encouraged to do their best. Our captain Lexie Jones courageously led the team and provided encouragement and an expert example of the St Mary's standard for competition. Well done girls.
