LIONS YOUTH OF THE YEAR | St Mary Star of the Sea College proudly celebrated the achievements of three outstanding students in the Lions Youth of the Year Program: Tiana Bateman, Edwina Jones, and Rosalie Van Stralendorff.
The competition began with a panel interview, where the students were assessed on their community engagement and knowledge of current affairs. All students progressed to the final round at the Fraternity Club in Fairy Meadow, with their interview scores contributing to their overall results.
The final stage featured an elegant dinner with the Lions community, during which each student delivered both an impromptu and a prepared speech. Topics explored included the ethical use and moderation of AI, the nature of truth in today’s society, and questions of identity.
Edwina Jones was recognised for her exceptional communication skills, receiving the Public Speaking Award, while Tiana Bateman impressed the judges with her poise and insight, earning the title of overall winner.
The College congratulates all participants for their commitment, courage, and thoughtfulness in representing St Mary Star of the Sea College with distinction.
