PUBLIC SPEAKING | Recently Sofia Dawson (Gibbons) and Emily Purcell (Foley) represented the College in the local finals of the Legacy Junior Public Speaking Award. This competition is open to all NSW junior secondary students and gives them the opportunity to improve their confidence in speech-writing and public speaking.
Both students were required to present a 5-minute prepared speech and a 2-minute impromptu speech. It is a challenging and nerve-wracking experience and both students presented their speeches with poise, putting forward thoughtful opinions and examples. While Sofia and Emily weren’t successful in reaching the next round of the competition, they received valuable feedback for future competitions and are to be commended for being wonderful representatives of the College.
