Many thanks to the President of Nakagawa Chemical who came to our studio to give to Emmanuelle the award trophy for "colorscape", which received the 21st CS DESIGN AWARD "Nakagawa Chemical Prize".
The award ceremony was cancelled due to covid-19 but it was very nice to make this mini ceremony at the studio.

Inspired by the gallery’s location on the Greenwich Peninsula, near to the Meridian, marking time and composed of layers of numbers in 100 shades of colours and white, the installation expresses the flow of time. Each layer of numbers reflects the now, the past and the future, the exhibition will be a round representation of the earth floating in the gallery space. A moment, a slice of time. Creating dates to be acknowledged and a moment to think about ourselves in contemplation with the now.

Why Emmanuelle Moureaux uses colour as a spatial principle
Interviewed for our publication One Artist, One Material, artist, architect and designer Emmanuelle Moureaux makes colour her only medium.
Emmanuelle’s first public art sculpture, “mirai” (meaning “the future” in Japanese) visualizes the next 100 years to come (2020 to 2119) in 100 different shades of colors. The colorful future is supported structurally by the past, represented through white numbers.
"mirai" is located in GREEN SPRINGS, the new well-being district in Tokyo.

Located in its first store - the iconic Dunnan store - opened in 1989 as the world first 24-hour bookstore, the installation expresses its 30 years history from 1989 until its closing on May 31.
From The Archives: It was a great honor to be part of the AESTHETICA ART PRIZE EXHIBITION by Aesthetica Magazine.
In this video, you can see "I am here" (which won the People's Choice Award), an interview of Emmanuelle in front of "100 colors in 3.3 m2" (exhibited on the Gallery terrace during several months) among great artworks from other nominated artists.
