Recently Mark D. Ellison, associate professor of ancient scripture, received the Outstanding Teaching Award from BYU Religious Education.
Dr. Ellison received a PhD and MA from Vanderbilt University in early Christianity and early Christian art, an MA from the University of South Florida in religious studies (Bible and archaeology), and an MEd (educational leadership) and BA (English) from Brigham Young University.

Casey Griffiths, assistant teaching professor of church history and doctrine at BYU, recently received the Outstanding Teaching Award from BYU Religious Education.
In addition to teaching numerous religion courses, last year he wrote a book titled “Truth Seeker: The Life of Joseph F. Merrill, Scientist, Educator, and Apostle,” which was published by the BYU Religious Studies Center.
