November Trip Recap ❄️ This month OA had some amazing trips around New England and had our first hikes in the snow. From hiking to backpacking and camping, OA leaders and participants took advantage of the outdoors, even in the cold!

OA has you covered with our equipment rentals where we rent everything from microspikes to inflatable kayaks making it easy for you to get outside on your own outdoor adventures! Our third abroad takeover is from Colin who has been spending the semester in Singapore! What’s up! I’m Colin Norstad, and I’ve been studying abroad at the National University of Singapore this semester. I’ve enjoyed exploring the blend of urban life and outdoor  adventures across East Asia while getting a feel for everyday life in Singapore. Some highlights have been hiking along the Great Wall, diving in Malaysia, and summiting Mt. Kerinci in Indonesia.

Last weekend, leaders Claire and Gabe led a trip to Mt. Abraham in Lincoln, Vermont. They spent two nights backpacking and hiking through the snow. They saw spectacular sunsets, sunrises, and stars!

This past Sunday, we held our annual Fall Climbing Comp theme: Mission Crimpossible having 39 climbers partaking! Last Saturday, leaders Claire and Elena led a trip to Mt. Monadnock in Jaffrey, New Hampshire. They climbed the second most visited mountain in the world, hiking up steep rock and enjoying beautiful views.

Last weekend, OA leaders gave back to our local Newton parks by pulling invasive plant species! They worked with Newton Conservators to remove buckthorn trees in Flowed Meadow Conservation Area.

October Trip Recap 🍂🍁 The fall foliage didn’t disappoint this year! Our trip leaders have been busy this month from backpacking to bouldering and everything in-between. Thank you to all our participants who made October so memorable.

This past weekend, leaders Debbie and Keira took participants to Crawford Notch in the White Mountains on a hike up two of New Hampshire’s 4000 footers, Mount Field and Mount Willey! They had nice clear skies for most of the hike Saturday and woke up to snow showers on Sunday morning!

Our 2nd abroad takeover for the year from Annick who’s abroad in Nepal for the semester! Hi everyone! My name is Annick Manseau and I am a junior studying abroad in Kathmandu, Nepal. I am studying Tibetan Buddhism and culture in the city, but I have enjoyed traveling to different parts of Nepal in my free time. I’ve been to the Annapurna, Langtang, and Kathmandu Valley regions so far, and am so excited to explore more of this beautiful country. See you guys in January!
