My chimney actually needed full rebuild, and Felgemacher Masonry did a beautiful job. Typically, I'd be like "whatever; it's a chimney," but it really is beautiful work! I didn't know I could be impressed by a chimney, but I am. Everyone at Felgemacher, from the office to the workers on site, were very friendly and thorough in communication. Everything was done timely, with no unexpected or hidden costs.

Colin at FM&C is great to work with. He took the time to talk me through what was good and what was bad about the state of my chimney. He explained all the options for repairing the brick, filling in mortar, pointing, and putting on a hip and ridge cap. With his on-site calculator, we were able to see different price-points for various options and was able to quote me an estimate on the spot. He made me feel comfortable and confident in contracting with FM&C!

Previous homeowners unfortunately did not take care of the chimney on a property I purchased last year. I hired Felgemacher to rebuild the chimney from the roofline up, and to repoint areas below the roofline where mortar had been displaced. I also had them install an energy efficient damper, and had a new cap formed with a drip edge. This work got my chimney from buckled and about to fall over, back to wood burning status. I also had them put in a new liner in the flue that leads to the basement and reconnected my boiler to vent through the chimney instead of the side of the house (not a high efficiency unit). These guys know what they are doing! Doug is an excellent rep who is incredibly responsive and knowledgable. The technicians were all professional and responsive, obliging all my questions. I asked a lot of questions…Thanks guys. Felgemacher was number three of my three estimates and they blew the competition out of the water as far as their approach to identifying and fixing my issues. Remember, you get what you pay for, and as Tom Silva from TOH says, “the money’s in the details”. Great family owned business that has my business for life.

My appointment was originally at 1230, but Doug called me around 1115 to let me know that they could come earlier. They, Doug and his apprentice Andy, arrived at noon. Doug and Andy did a wonderful job explaining the process, which was kind of them, as I’m a new home owner and never had a fireplace. They were courteous, professional, and clean. Doug provided a quote for the repairs and explained why they must be completed before using the fireplace. I’m pleased with the service I received and I will continue to contact them for service.
