First time happy, second time disappointed.
We got a main bathroom and ensuite done with ABG 6 months apart. The first one went really smoothly - plans were well laid out and people turned up when they were supposed to. There were a few minor hiccups that were rectified quickly and we were happy with the result. We assumed the second would be the same. The tradies and PM used were the same as the first job except for the tiler and that's where the issues started. Initially we were surprised that the waterproofing that was scheduled to cover two full days (as before) was done in 3 hours, but we assumed they knew what they were doing. After they'd laid tiles we pointed out to the PM that they were uneven/cracked/weird cuts and not done to the same quality as the first bathroom (which you'd expect if you were paying the same) and we were assured it was fine. For the following 3 weeks we continued to identify issues to the PM (grout, patching/painting, shower trim and glass scheduling, tiling again) and were, for lack of a better word, gaslit and told that things were fine, even though every other tradie that came by made comments about those issues. Long story short, the 4 week project was finished more than a week late (because of all the fixes that had to be made) with an unresolvable QBCC defect in the tiling that was identified in week 1 and could have been rectified if the PM had paid attention. Paul had to come by to review the issues at the end because the communication with, and trust in, the PM was broken. A month of seeing mistakes as they happened and being told they weren't there was not a fun time.
Im positive our second experience is not representative of the vast majority of their work but they really dropped the ball on this one. I would consider using them again though, just without some specific people involved.
