I had an ongoing issue that was difficult to pin down the cause of, but they were able to identify it and for the hassle of multiple trips to the dealer, they actually offered to fix it for free on the basis that I've been a good repeat customer. The service advisor (Mike) was very upfront about the whole process and clearly communicated what they'd be doing and how long it would take. I picked up my car today and its good as new. Thanks for the excellent experience - it speaks well of a company that empowers their employees to go out of their way to help a customer. Many businesses fall back to the "Computer says no" customer service experience, but not Nemer - they did what it took to make everything right and thats what counts.
Edit on 8/22:
I still hold the service in high regard but I had a pretty squarely negative experience on the showroom floor today. I was inquiring about selling my golf R back to the dealer in order to pursue a different car (I know, everyone shouting at me that of COURSE the dealer has no incentive to give you a decent offer in this scenario - they don't make money off your transaction), but it was undervalued about $5000 (25% of its total value) compared to other estimates.
I also could have, in advance of the valuation, written down and sealed in an envelope the reason the salesperson was going to give me for the low valuatino "Blah blah, we'd send it to auction, blah blah blah"
If everybody stopped reading here I'd just sound like a disappointed crazy person, but theres a back end of this that results in my complaint. My back up plan if the car I was eying out of town didn't work was to come in and trade the car that i've dutifully brought to Nemer for service for the 2018 Black Golf R you have on the showroom floor in the exact config I wanted. Now I feel like I've been treated like a sucker customer - and while that doesn't reflect on the service side of things (still giving my thumbs up to Mike), its reduced my desire to do business with Nemer to 0.
So, short version - getting a lowball trade is "just business" but so is me taking my Golf R that you obviously don't want to Autobahn center instead, and when it comes time for a new car, I'll probably shoot up to Garvey in Queensbury since I've only heard good things about their sales department.
The takeaway? Nobody wins in the long term by playing the short game financially.
