I feel it was a blessing to have met Dr. Phillips. I originally thought I had a bad knee and was scheduled with another doctor for a steroid injection, which I got. Dr Phillips came in at the end of my visit, introduced himself and suggested we x-ray my hips. We saw then that I had a couple spurs and not much space left in my left hip. I also have had back trouble in the lumbar area and left SI joint. I was somewhat confused by what was really my main problem.
Dr Phillips never pressured me and even encouraged me to see other doctors, which I did. In the course of about two years I continued to follow up with Dr Phillips every six months. I had almost no range of motion at my last visit. About a week later I called and asked to schedule a hip replacement. The wait to get in was only about 5 weeks.
Everyone at the Midwest Surgical Hospital was so kind and caring. Dr. Phillips is very cautious, which I very much appreciate. I feel the post surgery nurses were exceptionally intelligent with handling my meds and specific needs.
The pre-op packet tells you everything you need to know. The post-op exercises given to do at home are not hard and are so important to follow.
Yesterday was my 6-week post-op visit. I'm walking well without a cane now. Dr Phillips released me from all restrictions! He is the kindest, most honest doctor you could hope to find. I'm very, very appreciative to everyone. Thank you!
