We took our cat Tinks here a few weeks ago and ever since I’ve been so bothered by the vet we had to deal with. I can’t remember but she was either Australian or South African I can’t remember but the advice she had given us was so poor. My cat had a cold and didn’t eat for 2 days and also went into hiding so her advice was this, bear in mind his a 15 year old cat but this was her words exactly “Well when they go into hiding for a few days and not eating it’s a really bad sign, he’s reached life expectancy so within the next 24 hours you have a big decision to make and that’s either pay for him to have treatment (thousands of pounds btw) or have him put to sleep” Anyway 24 hours passed and he still wasn’t eating and he was still hiding away. Anyway a couple days later he came around and now his fully back to his best, eating and drinking well and running around outside looking healthy. She said his body was going through changes and I said Yh but before he had a cold he was running around like a menace, She replied with “ if I had a bad hip you wouldn’t know about it” like what is this witch talking about? If she had a bad hip at least she could tell me about it, after all she can speak and tell people but instead she was comparing humans to animals like such a frustrating person to deal with. We could’ve taken her advice and took our precious cat back 24 hours later and have him put to sleep but I had a gut feeling that she was seeing pound notes the whole time. Giving all this crazy advice without knowing what the real problem was. I’m not going to completely put down the whole centre as the receptionists were very nice, but the vet herself shouldn’t be in a job to do with animals and if anything I feel she should be put to sleep herself!
