UPDATE: So, my car got totalled, thanks to a deer, and I was beside myself. So, I called Tracey, had some issues with getting the insurance to pay out, but Tracey was there for me! Not only was able to talk to her throughout the entire process, she even helped with getting the GAP claim opened! Then, she went out of her way, to get me into the vehicle I wanted, a 2019 GMC Terrain, she also helped me get the paperwork done quickly, helped walk me through the process of getting a reimbursement from my insurance AND she made the process painless!
I love RightWat Auto, and Tracey! Definitely recommend!!
TDLR: Crappy credit and low income, got something I didn't really want, but at least I got something, for a low down payment, that runs, and in 2 yrs I can go back and get something better!! (Sometimes you gotta lose the battle to win the war!!) Totally worth it in the end! I do recommend!
My story: (this is long, but imma be honest)
my credit score is low, currently rebuilding. I have a household income is low, and other places won't take me for financing, unless I pay $1500-$300 down. (we checked, most wouldn't take us at all!)
I contacted Rightway and was put in touch with Tracy A. and even though I live well over an hour away, she helped do the paperwork, helped get approved and even helped me get out there to get the car. I drove off in a 2016 Buick Encore.
The downside, it's not what I wanted. (I wanted one of the GMC Terrains they have on their website.) They put me in the car they want me to have, not what I want to have. It's not in the best shape (was not cleaned, someone wrote on the steering wheel, stickers in the radio peeling, etc.) An, it took an extremely long time to do the paperwork, even after almost everything was done before I came out (we were there for around 4 hours, give or take.) It small, and has some issues (a/c, locks, the biggest issue is the key fob is not there)
(Keep reading, there is a point here!! It's not bad!!).
Here's the thing, it's an old car, I expected some issues. I didn't have much of a choice of where to go, and desperately needed a vehicle. An, I didn't have a lot to put down on a car. I found someone who would work with what I had. Someone who actually returned my calls and made me feel like my business mattered. An, she went out of her way to, not only make things work with what I had, but helped me get there to actually get the car!! (who does that?)
The upside, in 24 months, with on time payments, I can improve my credit, take this back, and get what I want. (Although even with a trade in, it sucks I will have to do another down payment.)
Yes, the numbers are high, interest is high, car prices are well above KBB, and a regular bank wouldn't go near these cars with a ten foot pole, but when you have bad credit, low income, etc, you don't have much of a choice. At least, with Tracy and Rightway, they will get you into a car, help you rebuild your credit, and get you into something else. They don't want you to keep the "loaner" (that's what I am calling it), they want you to come back, so they can sell you something newer, with less miles! So, it may not seem look pretty in the beginning, but I see the rainbow through the clouds! An, Robert (the manager at Rightway) is even assisting us in fixing some.of the pre-existing issues on the car!
