From day one Sam Ivy gave me the tools and knowledge to be in better control of my dog’s behavior. My dog is four-years old and was house broken when I got her, but didn’t know basic commands and I did not have a good level of control of her even on the leash. I live in a pet-friendly community, but my dog wasn’t socialized. Getting her socialized was important to me so we could be around other dogs.
Gina is very knowledgeable about canine behavior, which has helped me understand my dog better. I know that they are a pack animal, but she told me that they are also a den animal, meaning that unless they are out hunting, they are fine spending time in their den (in other words, when I am away, she is ok).
Gina was able to come up with ‘baby steps’ to break tasks into smaller increments when my dog wasn’t doing well learning specific commands and we always got to the desired result.
I recently dog sat for a relative’s dog, who is still in the puppy phase with the exuberant puppy energy. This dog is partially trained, but still has some undesirable behaviors. I felt confident dog sitting because I knew I had the tools to deal with the unwanted behavior when she was with me and we did just fine.
It was a pleasure working with Gina and I highly recommend both her as a trainer and Sam Ivy as a training g system.
