Gina was amazing! I think the experience greatly depends on the trainer, and I would highly recommend Gina. She’s very experienced and knowledgeable and just has great energy. She always made me feel comfortable asking any questions that came to mind and always let me know I was doing a good job. My boy Samson is a big baby but he developed some fear based aggression after being attacked 3 separate times by off leash dogs. One of the situations was pretty traumatizing, as I got bit by the other dog a few times, to the point where I needed to have someone else walk Samson for me. When Gina came, I hadn’t walked Samson on my own in about 4 months. After the first session with her I was already more comfortable and felt confident enough to finally walk him on my own again. Everything Gina suggested doing made so much sense and I could instantly see progress. I’m so extremely grateful for the knowledge, tools, and confidence I gained from having Gina as trainer!

Long story short, I cannot recommend them enough. Thuylinh has been absolutely amazing and the difference in my pup is night and day. He listens now! Long story not-so-short, I adopted a Great Pyrenees puppy and tried to do a group training class and it was extremely insufficient. He was still barking excessively, jumping into the pool every chance he got, jumping up on people, being aggressive when greeting people at the house, and just generally being disobedient and not listening. I am not a large person, so physically wrangling my 100 lbs puppy was not going to happen. I found Sam Ivy on google and decided their training program seemed like the best fit for my pup. We started our sessions with Thuylinh only about 2 weeks ago, only 7 sessions so far, and the difference is almost unbelievable. He listens to the word "no" and immediately stops whatever he was doing to warrant the no and comes to me. He hasn't tried to get in the pool since we started. He comes when I call him, although we still have a little work to do on that. And, with one exception, he hasn't been aggressive when greeting people. My pup has always been a good, sweet dog but now his behavior shows him in a much better light. I am really looking forward to continuing his training, at the very least, through the off leash training and will probably even go for the service dog training as well. PS: I will be using the techniques I have learned from Thuylinh to train my other dogs and any dogs I have in the future. It just works. And no months and months of frustration with no signs of progress.

We grew our family by four paws last September when we adopted a four month old golden doodle. The initial introduction to our 12 year old Wheaton terrier went well until our Doodle's puppy hall pass ran out when she hit adolescence. Our Wheaten began to exhibit stalking and aggressive behavior and the humans in our household were overwhelmed with the uncontrolled exuberance of a puppy. Having made a commitment to both dogs and wanting to have a happy home, I looked at behavioral trainers in the Tampa Bay area. I needed a program that provided service on weekends and after 7 pm when I get home from work and train in my home. I saw the reviews from other people sharing their success stories training with Sam Ivy and was able to schedule our consultation for a home visit the next day and were partnered with our own personal trainer, Thuylihn shortly after. We're less than a month in and we've noticed so much improvement in both dogs' behavior. We're setting boundaries and seeing a lot of progress-I don't want to say I didn't think it could happen but it's amazing how quickly we were able to make a dramatic improvement. The whole team from Sam Ivy has been supportive, responsive, and committed to helping us reach our goals. Thuylinh is available whenever we have questions and has formed a great rapport with our whole family. We look forward to being able to give her good news when she checks in with us on non training days and appreciate her positive and calming energy when training. We're so happy we went with Sam Ivy!

I had the initial consultation for my schnauzer, Lucas, in the beginning of January, and now in February, I can’t thank Sam Ivy K9 Consultants enough for truly transforming my dog! Lucas had problems with aggression, barking, jumping, soiling, running away, etc., and I was starting to feel out of control of his situation which is why I made the initial consultation. I spoke with Claudia, who really made me feel like the proper pack behavior program was worth it. I felt so much relief that I’d finally be able to properly communicate with my dog and be in a home where people wouldn’t be nervous due to Lucas’ constant and obsessive barking. I felt even better when I met my trainer, Maribel, who further reassured me that the program would work 100%. She was super sweet, she was always clear when giving instructions, she always made herself available if I had any questions or concerns, she was always understanding when any complications came up, and she was always very professional and punctual. Within a week, I could feel like my dogs behavior was changing and I couldn’t wait to see how he would behave when the program was done. Now, one month later, my family and everyone that knows Lucas always asks me, “You’re sure this isn’t a different dog?”. I’m so proud of the progress my dog has made and I’m forever thankful for all the help the people at Sam Ivy have given me and my dog, I can’t recommend them enough!!
