What a wonderful experience we had working with Sam Ivy, but specifically, Erica who was our trainer. She immediately put us at ease and helped us set good boundaries with our energetic and spunky Pug, Charlotte. For the first time since we brought her home, we started feeling more in control and saw progression every week as we worked through the program and tools. The tools really intimidated me at first but after seeing the behavior change without our girl losing her amazing personality, we became believers. We started with the proper pack and upgraded to intermediate on leash because of the results and we couldn’t be more happy. Erica trained our whole family how to live a much happier life together and we are so grateful to have gotten paired with her. She is fair but firm which helped hold all of us accountable (it also helped That she is someone that is easy to be around, funny and authentic) and we will miss having her around (unless we decide to go for the next level training, you never know!). Wow! This has made a HUGE difference in the quality of life for our pups and for us! Life before training with Erica - dreading walks, afraid of running into another dog, back yard full of holes from digging. Life after training with Erica - AMAZING! Walks are a pure joy - virtually hands free. Any minor distractions we can immediately address with a slight correction - and we’re reclaiming our back yard! We certainly gave Erica a challenge - two 100 lb dogs - the male pulling and snarling on walks and the female afraid of her own shadow. We saw an immediate improvement within the first two weeks and it kept getting better from there. Erica tailored the experience to each dog and answered all our questions. She was prompt, professional and genuinely loves what she does. The pups love her, too! Here’s a little secret - the training is really for the humans! Their training process works - but you have to trust the process - and put in the work to reinforce the new behavior. We couldn’t be more pleased and the pups are flourishing. Choosing Sam Ivy K-9 Consultants to train my Spaniel -Mix, Whiskey, was a great decision! I had recently moved from a large Townhouse to a small apartment, and my poor dog was having a hard time adapting. He had to get used to new sounds and a totally new environment. Neighbors were complaining of his barking when I would leave for work or errands. This was my biggest concern and I was not prepared to tackle the issue on my own. As soon as we started the training sessions and he understood who was ‘alpha’ in our little pack, I noticed changes in his behavior and demeanor. We can not say enough positive things about Sam Ivy and our trainer, Joel! We adopted our hound dog, Murphy, who was great with us, but very fearful and at times aggressive with strangers. He also had issues with walking and obedience. We call Joel the dog whisperer because Murphy has completely changed for the better! His obedience and leash skills are amazing and we are even able to walk him off leash with no worries. He is now a friendly dog who seeks the attention of new guests and strangers, something we thought would never happen! We are so thankful for the great training we got from sam ivy and we highly recommend them!

Alexis is great! Very personable, pays close attention to our Dobermans needs, wants and incorporates our family too! Her ability to connect with not only our Dobey but our family as a whole has been a blessing. Individually, Alexis focuses on what we want to gain from training and always moves forward with goals set. We couldn’t be more happier with the results we got with our fur baby. Our trainer Miguel was fantastic! I decided our one year old red mini poodle Georgie should be a therapy dog and be trained as a pet volunteer to visit nursing homes and hospitals as she is super friendly, smart and adorable. However she never listened to us and completely ruled the house. After investigating trainers I decided on Sam Ivy and it was the best money we’ve ever spent. Miguel is smart and kind and was a joy to work with. Beside giving us the tools to train Georgie he gave us the reasoning behind everything we were doing. Having a well trained dog is so important and besides making them happier it makes everyone around them happier also. Georgie loved Miguel and she was always excited to see him. We are going to miss our sessions with him but he has given me all the skills and tools to be able to continue her training. I am confident she will be a fantastic pet volunteer.

We recently bought a Pit Bull puppy to keep our 7 year old Bijon Shitzu company. We saw great reviews for Sam Ivy and decided to try the “advanced on-leash” in-home program. Our trainer was Gina Avitabile. She was AMAZING. We saw results almost immediately. The puppy was a little confused at first, but caught on very quickly, and the older dog was just a show-off during the training. They both are so well behaved on walks now, they listen to commands and are even getting the hang of “spot” training. Gina had a very clear training plan for my wife and I and was very patient with us (we trained both dogs at the same time). Gina was very accommodating to our work schedules and she was always on-time. Our pups just graduated the advanced on-leash training program and we would definately recommend Sam Ivy to anyone.
