Unforgettable experience! The guides were extremely knowledgeable and fun. The food was excellent. The lodges were beautiful, and the animals were incredible. Absolutely breathtaking!

It was an incredible trip and a lifetime memory. It completely changed my perception of Africa. Micato elevated my safari experience to new heights. Their arrangements are exceptional, and the service they provided is unparalleled, unlike anything you can find in the US.

We have been on many great luxury vacations and ecotours over the years and this trip to South Africa, Botswana, and Zimbabwe ranks at the top. Micato has all of the bases covered to assure that your trip runs smoothly and its great staff direct your safari with friendly, efficient competence. From the initial meeting at the airport to the final send-off, you feel like your experience is the most important thing to them. The Saxon Hotel in Johannesburg and the Victoria Falls Hotel were two of my all-time favorites. The rustic luxury of the camps was great with wonderful food. The staff and the Pinto family managed to supply unexpected touches and surprises at each transition point which everyone truly appreciated. The true essence of the trip though was experiencing the African people who were warm and welcoming and the African savanna with its incredible biodiversity. The pictures shown here are pretty randomly selected and I am still in the process of editing another several thousand of which many will exceed these. There was a picture everywhere you looked.
While the trip was quite pricy, I left feeling like it was a bargain. I’m old school and don’t give out stars lightly. It was also nice to know that a portion of each person’s cost was used to pay for a year of school for a local child. My only regret was that it took me almost 80 years to discover Africa and Micato.

My husband and I recently returned from an unforgettable safari in South Africa with Micato, and I still think about the experience every day. Our Safari Director, Ignatius "Iggy" Potgieter, exceeded every expectation we had. His expertise, professionalism, passion, and genuine kindness elevated every aspect of our journey. Whether sharing his extensive knowledge of wildlife, culture, and history or ensuring our comfort and safety, Iggy made us feel completely cared for throughout the trip. In just a short time, he felt more like a lifelong friend than a guide.
What truly sets Micato apart is the personal attention. Every lodge and camp knew who we were before we arrived, welcomed us warmly, and made us feel like honored guests. The seamless logistics, thoughtful surprises, and exceptional hospitality made us feel as though we were the most important people in the world. More than once, other travelers commented on the incredible treatment we received, and the answer was simple: we booked with Micato.
The safari experience itself was beyond anything we could have imagined. Both Kapama and Ngala were stunning in their own unique ways, offering luxurious accommodations, breathtaking surroundings, and unforgettable wildlife encounters. The game drives at each reserve were completely different yet equally spectacular, providing diverse experiences and incredible sightings. The staff at both lodges were exceptional, and the safari guides and trackers were truly top-notch. Their skill, knowledge, and passion for the bush made every drive exciting, educational, and memorable.
One of the most meaningful parts of our journey was learning about Micato's commitment to the local community through its support of the Red Hill community and educational initiatives. Visiting the Red Hill Library added a deeper dimension to our trip and reminded us that this experience was about more than luxury travel. It was inspiring to see the positive impact Micato is making, and it transformed our safari from an extraordinary vacation into a truly meaningful experience.
I would also like to recognize Edmund, whose professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to our safety never went unnoticed; Christevie, whose warmth and enthusiasm made our time in Cape Town even more memorable; and Shamala, who welcomed us with such kindness upon our arrival in Johannesburg.

My granddaughter and I recently returned from Micato's "Heart of Kenya & Tanzania" safari, and it was truly one of the most enjoyable and memorable travel experiences we have ever shared.
From the initial planning stages through our arrival, departure, and every detail in between, the Micato team provided exceptional service and attention to detail. Their professionalism and hospitality made us feel well cared for throughout the entire journey.
During our adventure, we visited three magnificent national parks and one private game reserve. Although we were away for only 12 days—including travel days—we experienced an incredible amount in a relatively short time. I will say that this safari is not for the faint of heart. It is a very active itinerary, with something exciting happening every day. If your goal is to see and do as much as possible in a limited amount of time, this safari is an excellent choice. Travelers seeking a slower, more relaxed pace may want to explore other options.
Every lodge and camp where we stayed was first-class. The accommodations were beautiful, the food was outstanding, and the staff at every location provided warm, attentive service. The breathtaking landscapes and unforgettable wildlife encounters exceeded our expectations.
One of the highlights of our trip was visiting a Maasai village, where we had the opportunity to interact with members of the Maasai tribe and gain insight into their traditions, culture, and way of life. These cultural experiences added a meaningful dimension to our safari beyond the incredible wildlife viewing.
What I particularly appreciate about Micato is the flexibility they offer. Travelers can choose from one of their thoughtfully designed safari itineraries or customize an experience based on their own interests and preferences.
I would not hesitate to travel with Micato again, and I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to experience the beauty of Africa—the wildlife, landscapes, cultures, cuisine, accommodations, and exceptional customer service that make a Micato safari truly unforgettable.
