Best Portuguese tarts I've had. Worth a stop, you won't regret it. Served warm with some powdered sugar and cinnamon on top. You can also buy them frozen and take them home for later which is so worth it!

The best Portuguese egg tarts in NYC. So good I had to stop myself from eating 2. I ended up buying some to take home. Owner is very friendly as well.

Wait and get your pastel de nata FRESH outta the oven while they're still warm. So DELICIOUS! Very cute spot that specializes in Portuguese egg tarts. All my friends were raving about them for good reason. They also have some savory snacks as well that I'll go back try next time. Hilarious sign on the bathroom door says, "please don't do cocaine in our bathroom". Possibly because the powdered sugar on the natas make it look like you have.

Cute little Portuguese bakery with egg tarts that are soooo yummy! We went early in the morning right by opening. Who I believe is either the owner or the owner’s mom was there and greeted with such a welcoming attitude. We never came here before and didn’t know much about her tarts. We have had authentic tarts before in Portugal years back (so delicious). So, she was kind enough to give us TWO free tarts as a sample. Super generous considering they sell one for three dollars each. It had just come out of the oven, so it was still nice and warm. The pie crust was super flaky, with a mild butter flavo. The custard was smooth, not too sweet. It was nice and creamy, with a slightly cinnamon and sugary addition from the powder she sprinkles on top. So good. We bought a dozen after that. They bake it fresh throughout the day, and sell frozen ones too!

Second time going to this homey awesome smelling Portuguese place. We order their natas which is their signature item and they come out of the oven hot versus being put out on a shelf! I also got an expresso. All of these items were yummy as hit the spot on a cold day! Def. going back and the service is great too!

Awesome place with delicious authentic pasteis, and Portuguese wine. The owner is also a lovely guy and deserves all of the success, I recommend a visit 1000%! NYC needs more businesses like this, where not only the food is good but customers are also appreciated and treated well.

The pastéis de nata tastes exactly how it's marketed; a Portugese dessert that is a cross between a croissant and crème brûlée. Isabella was such a wonderful person and I wish nothing but the best for her and her business

Authentic Pasteis de Nata and Bolo de Bolacha baked by Joey and his wonderful mother. Well worth the stop in for a cafe and some pastries if you're in the area. 10/10

Fantastic Portuguese pastry. I’ve only had them when I was in Portugal, but this tastes just like it. So glad I found this place! Perfect for a quick stop in between gigs.

Best place to go if your feeling homesick or just love Portuguese food, people or pastries! Mama Bats makes the best desserts and pastels in town! Portuguese coffee is just superb and full of taste (as one should expect of her coffee) got lucky today and got Pudim, and it was like I was transported back in Portugal. I recommend this place vividly and thank Mama Bats and Joey for their hospitality!
