Swung by for two natas. I was hoping to try their vegan natas but learned those are only available at the Chelsea Market! I hope they plan to spread them to the other locations :)
I had the blueberry and passionfruit natas. These things melt in your mouth and cover your palette with divine flavor. So delicious! Thank you!!

Pretty darn good. The smell is the same as those of Belem. They get pretty darn close to the taste as well. Kuddos. The price was fair I got the six pack for $20 not bad. Tried two of the maracujá ones. They were pretty darn good as well. Will def be back again soon when I have saudade

The apple and cinnamon and the blueberry were by far the best thing I have tasted pastry wise in a long time. I reallly hate that Joey doesn't offer those 2 flavors in the nationwide shipping. I would order these at least twice a month so hopefully he will start to offer these really soon.

I don’t normally post reviews, but the lady who owns this coffee shop is the nicest lady of all time, and the espresso I had was indeed marvelous, as advertised.
Would stop by here any day of the week to grab a cup of coffee!

As a business owner, I love when other business owners respond to emails and questions directly when asked about their services/ products. We are very excited to try the pastries from Joey Bats in NYC. He was prompt in responding to my various emails and on a holiday weekend. He gave me allergen information I requested and I am grateful for the genuine customer service. Thanks for all of the help Joey!

Delicious Portuguese pastries. They offer the little gems in a vegan version also which are amazing. I will often visit this place if I’m in the neighborhood because the tarts are THAT good.

Okay, there is a God and God answers prayer! Over this past weekend while attending the US Open, I wondered into the Grand Central Station Food Concourse. While searching for some pasta dish a wonderful sight appeared before my eyes. I could not believe that tucked away at one end of the food court was Joey Bats Cafe. There I found, Pasteis de Natas! I have not had these since they were sent to me from Praga, Portugal this summer. The ladies thought I was losing my mind explaining about how good these little treats were. They convinced me that their version was the same thing. I said okay and I tried one fresh and warm right out of the oven. As I bit into my new found love, tears watered my eyes and a smile graced my face. Omg I just bit into a taste of heaven! I bought six and went away singing zippity do da. I went back the next day and got nine more! So, what's the takeaway here? Joey Bats take on an historic treat is AUTHENTIC!!!!!!! I will be ordering more to be shipped! Tha

I met Suzette Batista today at the Essex Market location. I was hoping to buy some pastéis de bacalhau for my wife, who is from Madeira. Alas, I learned the main Joey Bats cafe shut down about a year ago! Such a bummer - we loved the food! But glad that we can still get pasteis de nata! Had a great chat with Suzette - thanks for taking the time to chat with me!

The pasteis de nata are incredible. Buy the frozen ones as a gift for someone when you’re invited over for dinner. It’s unique and memorable.
