Repost from first_genbc: “Hello everyone! First Generation Club at Boston College is excited to bring you the first (of many) E-Board showcases! This our way of becoming more acclimated with the community around us, and for you to learn more about our club and goals for this upcoming year. Together we can empower first generation students and level the playing field! We’re excited to start the showcase series off with one of our co-founders. Make sure to like the page to follow our activity and future showcases (every Wednesday till classes start)!!! Name: Jesse Ray Rascon Vision for the club - As a founder and first president of the club, I envision it to be a group on campus where people of all backgrounds can feel welcomed and grow both professionally and emotionally. What you personally will do to ensure that vision - I personally plan to be a resource to anyone who seeks any sort of help or guidance both inside and outside the club. I also plan to invest time to create events that foster community and professional development. Own experience as a first generation - Coming from a single parent household, and whose mother came on boat as a refugee, I didn't envision going to Boston College, let alone working at Goldman Sachs. I'm a firm believer that you are what you think, so if you think you will be successful, it'll find it's way to work out. Same goes in the opposite direction.”

Take advantage of OSI’s open study spaces in Carney Hall during finals week instead of battling for tables in the library. Whether you’re decorating cookies or cramming for you last exam, you’ll find quiet, cozy spots to work!
