Pheasant Fact Friday! It’s common during the summer to see a hen with two broods. But if you see this, know they are not both hers. The physical toll nesting and rearing takes on hens makes it physically impossible to hatch a second brood. However, they will readily adopt broods. If you see a hen with two broods, they’re typically three to four weeks apart in age, which is another clue that she has taken some orphaned chicks under her wing. Even if the hen hatches her first brood and immediately started another nest, four weeks is not enough time to hatch again. #pheasantsforever #pheasantfactfriday #thehabitatorganization

Great news for hunters in Pennsylvania! On Wednesday/Today, House Bill 1431 was signed into law by Governor Josh Shapiro which fully repeals the longstanding prohibition on Sunday hunting across the state. This will provide more opportunities to build memories, harvest wild game, and participate in the conservation system that hunters support and help fund – particularly for those whose busy weekday schedules limits hunting to the weekends. On behalf of our Government Affairs team, thank you to our members and supporters for helping to advocate for this change! From the Field - Colorado What kind of brood activity are you seeing in your area? How many chicks can you count here? Habitat notes: - Delay haying or mowing when possible. This gives nests time to hatch and broods time to grow. - Leave an uncut buffer around fields until mid-July. - Avoid mowing in spirals or concentric circles, which traps wildlife in the center. - Limit “full-field” disturbances from May to July. New Look. Same Mission. Forever Forward. Forty-three years in the making, Pheasants Forever is proud to unveil a refreshed brand identity and logos to inspire and exemplify a unified effort for upland wildlife habitat conservation amongst our members, supporters, and partners. This evolution – the first official change since 1982 – sets the stage for greater organizational presence, engagement, and mission growth throughout the country. This updated brand identity was developed in concert with Pheasants Forever’s recently updated 2026 Strategic Plan while using the guidance of internal and external designers, chapter volunteers, and the pro bono expertise provided by the industry-leading brand consultants at Joe Smith. While implementing a budget-friendly phased roll-out beginning today, expect to see our new logos, wordmark, monogram, and brand colors in many public-facing environments immediately. This transition is a sign of our continued evolution as a leader in habitat conservation. As our impact has grown—28.5 million+ acres improved, 585,000+ habitat projects, and hundreds of thousands of acres opened for public access—our brand must grow with it… But one thing will never change: Our Mission.
