Before there were banquets, chapters, or habitat acres on the ground, there was a typewriter and an idea. In this episode of On the Wing Podcast, PF & QF’s Bob St. Pierre and Jared Wiklund sit down with Star Tribune Outdoors Editor Dennis Anderson, the man whose 1982 newspaper column launched “The Habitat Organization.” Listen now at the link in our bio or wherever you get your podcasts. “On the Wing Podcast” is proudly fueled by @proplan #pheasantsforever #quailforever #thehabitatorganization

Sporting Dog Shorts Fueled by @proplansportingdogs - Understanding Nutrition and Energy Needs in Your Hunting Dog As hunters, we spend countless hours conditioning our dogs, planning hunts, and fine-tuning every detail of our time in the field. But one question I hear often, especially as hunting season gets underway, has less to do with training or tactics and more to do with nutrition: "Should I be feeding my dog during the hunt?" @birddogvet covers the answer to this question and more at the link in our bio. #pheasantsforever #quailforever #proplansportingdogs

Pheasant Hunting 1946 - Honoring a Generation, Re-Creating an Era The basic principles of upland hunting are timeless. Boots in the dirt. Dog on the ground. Bird in the air. But the minutia — the accoutrements, if you will — is ever-changing. Strip away our Gore-Tex, GPS, Vibram-soled comforts and you're left with a completely different experience. That's precisely my kind of hunt. I've spent the better part of my life trying to understand and appreciate those who came before us. It's my obsession, and I've found it's best accomplished by literally putting yourself in someone else's shoes. Travel back in time to October 1946 at the link in our bio.
