WORLD TEACHER'S DAY | This week we are excited to celebrate World Teacher's Day in recognition of the impact of teachers around the world and to showcase some of the outstanding teachers that we’re fortunate to have here at St Mary's. Today, we shine the spotlight on Ms Samantha Hearn, one of our early career teachers who has been recognised by her colleagues through the St Mary’s peer recognition program for her outstanding contribution to our College community. Here's what Sam’s colleagues had to say:
FOOD TECHNOLOGY | This week, our Year 10 Food Technology students completed their cake design task, where they baked and decorated a special occasion cake. The end results are, once again, very impressive! An amazing demonstration of cake making and decorating skills, well done girls.

DEBATING | Today, St Mary’s Star of the Sea College was proud to host Edmund Rice College for a day of spirited debating. Students from Stage 5 competed across two rounds, tackling contemporary topics such as banning Roblox in Australia and building high-rises to offset the housing crisis. Adjudicators from the University of Wollongong’s SWORDS Debating Society generously shared their expertise throughout the day. Our debaters represented the College with confidence, respect, and passion for the issues shaping our world. Congratulations to: Year 10: Alyssa Semaan, Audrey Mackay, Edwina Jones, Hana Segi, Lina Shahat, Lodi Nettle, Rosalie Van Stralendorff, and Tiana Bateman. Year 9: Gretel Alexander, Hadeel Hadaya, Madeleine Towers, and Rafa Islam.
