SPORT | 🏁 Championship off to a flying start! 🏁 Year 8 student Emma Backway kicked off her Motorcycling NSW Enduro Championship campaign in style last weekend, competing in Rounds 1 and 2 of the series. The championship spans 10 rounds across 5 weekends, and Emma made an impressive statement early securing 3rd place in Round 1 and backing it up with a fantastic 2nd place in Round 2. Competing in the Junior Girls category, these results place her among the top Enduro riders in NSW and set a strong foundation for the rest of the State Series, well done, Emma! #MotorcyclingNSW #EnduroRacing #JuniorAthlete #ProudMoment

IWD | Congratulations to Rachael Young, recipient of the Gracie Wallis Scholarship for Women with a Disability at the 2026 Illawarra International Women’s Day Awards. A proud St Mary’s alumna (Class of 2010), Rachael is an inspiring artist and workshop facilitator who uses her lived experience to promote creativity, inclusion and confidence within her community. Her work has been recognised through exhibitions, public art projects and National acknowledgment as an “Inspirational Australian”. Through her workshops, Rachael empowers others to express themselves while fostering greater understanding of disability, a true leader making a meaningful impact. This scholarship will support Rachael’s continued growth as an artist and facilitator, strengthening her independence and leadership. We were also proud to have our Year 11 students attend the Illawarra International Women’s Day Luncheon at the WIN Entertainment Centre.
