SPORTS NEWS | Congratulations to Emerson McCrea (Year 12) who has accepted a Basketball Scholarship offer from Boise State University, USA. Emerson has represented St Mary’s College and NSWCCC with distinction on the basketball court. In addition, she has represented Illawarra Basketball for the past 7 years, as well as NSW Country teams. Earlier this year Emerson gained selection in the NSW Under 20s Basketball team that finished runner up the National U20 Basketball Championship. Emerson is currently playing for the Illawarra Kittyhawks NBL1 team, playing alongside and against many older and experienced state and WNBL players, which will provide her with excellent experience before taking up her playing scholarship in USA. Emerson does an excellent job in balancing her commitment to her studies and her sport. She is an outstanding role model for our younger students and is a valued member of our college community. WORLDSKILLS | Claudia Gaudiosi (Year 12) has been selected in the NSW VET in Schools WorldSkills team. This selection recognises Claudia's high-level skills, developed during her Business Services course @stmaryswollongong. Next month she will get the opportunity to showcase her skills in Brisbane against the best from all over Australia. This is a fantastic achievement, well done Claudia!
