LAUDATO SI ART PRIZE | The opening exhibition of the Laudato Si Art Prize showcased a stunning display of artworks from student entrants last night. Artworks were created in reference to this year’s theme, ‘Celebrating the Year of Stewardship, Pilgrims of Hope for Creation.’ The art and the artist statements demonstrated a deep level of religious literacy and provided a truly inspiring experience. MOCK MEDIATION 2025 | Today, six students from Year 10 Commerce – Nicola.M, Sofia.P, Olivia.L, Miracle.C, Paige.L, Amelia.B – participated in Round Two of Mock Mediation. A practising lawyer in our local community was the adjudicator and gave our students some excellent feedback on the importance of the skills practised in mediation and how they can be applied in real life scenarios. Active listening, being respectful and remaining solutions focused are all skills the students will be able to apply beyond this experience. Well done and now on to Round Three!
LAUDATO SI MASS | Yesterday, student leaders from St Mary’s College and Edmund Rice College came together for a beautiful mass presided by Fr Ken Cafe (from The Parish of St Michael, Thirroul and Wombarra) in our College chapel to celebrate and acknowledge Laudato Si’ Week. The celebration allowed students to present and share their ideas on the importance of Laudato Si and the legacy of Pope Francis. It is evident that our students are committed to ‘fan the flame of hope’ as Pope Francis encouraged during this Jubilee Year.
