COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT | A huge thank you to Brodie Long and the crew at BLG Business Advisers @blgbusinessadvisers for their generous $500 donation to our Miles for Marian campaign! As one of our valued partners and proud participant in next week’s Year 10 Women in Careers Expo, BLG continues to lead by example in empowering young women through both education and opportunity. Last Friday, our incredible Year 11 students laced up their boots for a purpose taking on the Mt Kosciuszko Trek and the Wollongong Coastal Walk in support of the Marian Bursary. Their efforts are part of a growing movement to ensure that no student is denied an education due to financial hardship. With generous community partners like BLG, we are well on our way towards our $15,000 goal—but the journey continues! To other businesses and supporters there’s still time to make a difference. Donations of $500 or more will be acknowledged across our social media platforms. Join us in making an impact that lasts a lifetime. BUNDANON EXCURSION | Yesterday our Year 9 and 10 Visual Arts and Photography students explored the stunning Bundanon estate on Dharawal Country — the former home and studio of renowned Australian artist Arthur Boyd. Students toured the historic homestead, immersed themselves in Boyd’s creative world, and responded to the breathtaking landscape with their own artworks created on site. An inspiring day of art, history and connection to place! 🌿📷🖌️ Artwork by Year 9 student: Mia Bujaroski. #Bundanon #DharawalCountry #ArthurBoyd #SMCCreativeArts #EnPleinAir

On Friday 2nd May a small group of Year 10 Commerce students went to the UOW Innovation Campus for the Young Justice program run by the Law Society of NSW. The morning began with a panel that involved lawyers in different specialisations answering questions about their experience as a student and within their chosen field of work. Students also had the privilege of listening to the wise words of Harold Hanson, who at 93, has been an integral part of the Wollongong legal community and the community in general. After lunch students were able to workshop a scenario with students from other schools, where they had to apply the ethical obligations of both a practising solicitor and community member. Thanks to the @The Law Society of NSW for an excellent day, our students really appreciated this unique opportunity.
