SPIRIT ON COUNTRY | Our HSIE History Coordinator, Ms Nadia Szimhart, is currently attending the Spirit on Country event in Tamworth, a three-day conference on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education hosted by Catholic Schools NSW. Yesterday, on the first day, 300 educators came together to explore how to teach the most challenging aspects of Australian history with respect and reverence. Participants were guided through a memorial walk at the Myall Creek massacre site, led by local primary school children, who shared the story in both Gamilaroi and English. This profound experience deepened understanding of the significance of this tragic event in shaping our history. #SpiritOnCountry #MyallCreekMassacre #TeachingWithRespect #AboriginalEducation #SMC #CatholicSchoolsNSW
