ANIMAL WELFARE | This term, our Animal Welfare Club has been dedicated to supporting WIRES Australian Wildlife Rescue Organisation. We were honoured to have two WIRES volunteers visit and share their experiences, giving us insight into the important work they do in rescuing and rehabilitating wildlife. Our students have gone above and beyond, raising funds through a bake sale and partnering with the Crochet Club to make nests for injured and baby birds. A huge thank you to Yve Fittock Year 11, Club President and Lucy Rowland Year 7, Junior Club Executive for their leadership and to all the students involved. ITALIAN CULTURAL EXCHANGE We are delighted to welcome fourteen Italian students and two teachers from Liceo Scientifico Leonardo da Vinci in Reggio Calabria to St Mary Star of the Sea College! It’s been a joy to see them fully immerse themselves in the Aussie way of life, trying new foods, and enjoying leisure activities. Our students studying Italian have also loved the chance to practise their language skills and learn about the daily life of Italian teenagers. A heartfelt thank you to our incredible host families for opening your homes and hearts. Your kindness and generosity make this cultural exchange truly special, and the smiles on our Italian visitors' faces say it all.
