ASTROPHYSICS DAY | Our Year 9 students had an out-of-this-world experience at the University of Sydney's Astrophysics day! The girls had two lectures from physicists in the field explaining how communication occurs using satellites in space and how we get that information on Earth. The girls then engaged in a coding activity in the science labs at the University of Sydney to see how satellite information is decoded on Earth to turn data into pictures. It was a great day learning about Physics and satellite communication in space. University of Sydney #Astrophysics #STEMEducation #LearningBeyondTheClassroom

CARNEVALE 2024 | Carnevale is a significant festival held all over the world and is known as the ‘last party before the 40 day fast of Lent’. It is a time to dress up, wear masks, indulge in sweets and have fun. The Italians have a motto for Carnevale - ‘a Carnevale ogni scherzo vale’ - During Carnevale all tricks are allowed. This year the tradition to celebrate on martedì grasso (Shrove Tuesday) continued and our students were very creative with their colourful, elaborate and original masks and crowns that they made. Many classes were fortunate to taste traditional homemade treats during class time. Grazie mille to our wonderful mamme, papà and nonne who sent in Carnevale favourites like crostoli, frittelle and pizzelle. #Carnevale #SMC
