IWD | Happy International Women's Day from St Mary Star of the Sea College!
Today, we celebrated the incredible achievements, strength, and resilience of women everywhere. Our College Assembly was filled with inspiration as we embraced the theme of #IWD2024.
Our special guest, Maya Francis Goodwin, from the Class of 2018, delivered an awe-inspiring speech that left us motivated and empowered. Maya’s words resonated deeply with all of us!
Throughout the day, our College was adorned in a sea of purple, symbolizing unity and solidarity in support of gender equality. Together, we recognize the importance of celebrating women's achievements and continuing to strive for a more inclusive and equitable world.
In addition, our Year 12 and Year 11 students had the opportunity to be part of the Illawarra International Women's Day Luncheon held at the Win Entertainment Centre. For the past decade, our students have volunteered their time and efforts, assisting with raffle sales and merchandise at this esteemed event. Our students also provided the pre-event entertainment as guests arrived. It's a testament to their dedication to serving their community and supporting the empowerment of women.
