A SEASON OF GIVING AT ST MARY'S | In the final weeks of Term 4, our Year 7 engineering students have been dedicating their time and skills to craft wooden toys with the intention of bringing joy to needy families this Christmas.
Under the guidance of our dedicated woodwork teachers Mr Hartnett, Mr Luck & Miss Pace, the students have been honing their skills to produce an array of ducks, geese and buses. The quality of the toys produced is excellent and they will arguably bring smiles to the faces of the recipient children.
In another example of the servant hearted student body here at SMC, a select few Year 9 Textile students have given up their lunch times to sew superhero capes that will also be donated.
It has been a joy to watch our students be so generous with their time and skills, a simple gesture that will have a profound impact on the lives of others this Christmas.
The toys and capes will soon be distributed by the Lighthouse Community Kitchen, The Salvation Army Wollongong and Turning Point Camden.
Thank you Ms Newtown, VET/Technologies Teacher for this great idea of giving.
