FEMALE SPORTSWOMEN OF THE YEAR | St Mary’s shone bright at the NSWCCC Sports Blues Awards last night! Five incredible girls were honoured for their outstanding performances at the Australian All Schools Championships:
Aya Milton – Swimming Bar Award
Ivy Miller – Swimming
Evie McGrath – Rugby League
Lara Thomsen – Golf Bar Award
Grace Tracey – Netball
Grace Tracey – AFL
This year was exceptional with 5 girls receiving a total of 6 awards – truly amazing!
And the highlight? Grace Tracey received the Vince Villa Award for Most Outstanding Female Sportswoman of the Year! She's the second student in 24 years to claim this honour, following in the footsteps of Lauren Sparks in 2006. The award was presented by SMC 1999 Alumnae Ruan Sims, a trailblazer in Australian women's sports.
Grace, selected in both Australian 16-Yrs Merit Teams for Netball and AFL, continues to inspire. A big thank you to Ruan Sims for encouraging our students to embrace sporting opportunities, breaking barriers in traditionally male-dominated fields.
Congratulations to all of our award winners! #SMCChampions #WomenInSports
