OUTSTANDING RESULTS IN SPORTS | 2023 Diocesan Sports Awards Presentation – Friday 10th November St Mary’s College was victorious in winning the Vince Villa Girls Champion School, having won most of the Diocesan Sports carnivals throughout the year. 23 St Mary's College girls were presented medals in recognition of their representative honors: Secondary Sports Medallion ( for selection in a NSWCCC team, or representation in 3 Diocesan teams) Caitlin Abella – Tennis Tessa Body – Hockey Eugenie Canavan – Tennis Celeste Carolan – Cross Country Jessica Cole – Swimming Cate Giason – Cross Country Helena Halios-Lewis – Diocesan Soccer, Cross Country and Athletics Charlotte Riolo – Netball Lily Riolo – Touch Joely Suttor – Cross Country Mimi Thomsen – Golf Darcy Webber – AFL Secondary Blues Council Award (for selection in a NSW All Schools ream, or Australian team) Ashleigh Barlow – AFL Genevieve Bosker – Athletics (Highjump) Montana Doubell – Triathlon Addison Jobson – Triathlon Emerson McCrea – Basketball Evie McGrath – Touch and Australian Rugby League Ivy Miller – Swimming Aya Milton – Swimming (NSW Team Captain) Lara Thomsen – Golf Grace Tracey – Australian Netball and Australian AFL Chelsey Wayne – Athletics Champions NSWCCC Sports teams: 15-16yrs Swim relay team – Freestyle: Stephanie Staniforth, Ivy Miller, Charli Cleghorn, Jessics Cole 15-16yrs Swim relay team – Medley: Ivy Miller, Alexia Foye, Jessica Cole, Stephanie Staniforth Tennis: Caitlin Abella, Eugenie Canavan, Liana Meta, Evie Norris Intermediate Triathlon: Ivy Miller (Swim), Montana Doubell (Cycle) and Cate Giason (Run) Basketball – Yr 7-8s: Taylah Curtis, Saran Campbell, Addison Bonham, Maya Hopkins, Molly Coble, Memphis Coble, Tully Davidson, Ava Germanos, Joely Suttor, Layla Markovski, Olivia Pupovac. At the conclusion of the Awards Ceremony, the Terry White Trophy for most Outstanding Sportswoman was announced. Two candidates were nominated this year: Evie McGrath for gaining selection in the Australian Rugby League team as well as the NSWCCC Touch; and Grace Tracey for her selection in the Australian 15s AFL team as well as the Australian 15s Netball team. Congratulations to Grace Tracey on winning this very prestigious award in 2023.
