LANGUAGES SOCCER | On Thursday the 2nd of November during lunchtime the Languages Club hosted their very first and highly successful soccer match, between Italian, French and Indonesian language teams. Students across all year groups participated in representing the language they study at St Mary’s, and very fiercely competed for their country to qualify for the grand finals! France vs Indonesia kicked off the first game, with a 0-0 score. Gemma Starcic (Year 11) scored a goal for team Italy in the second game against France, totalling a 1-0 score. Finally, team Indonesia scored 2-0 to France, thanks to Ella Viliami & Siarra Melchiore (Year 10) and Sport Assistant, Imogen Thompson. The crowds were buzzing with enthusiasm and encouragement for their friends playing, whilst cheering and waving flags! The grand final match will be held on Thursday the 9th of November lunchtime between teams Italy and Indonesia. Languages Club looks forward to hosting more games in the future.
