RUGBY LEAGUE SUCCESS | During the holidays Evie McGrath, graduating Year 12 student had an incredible week representing the Australian School Girls Rugby League team as #6 against Papua New Guinea Junior Orchids! A fantastic result 26-0. Evie travelled alongside the Prime Minister's XIII and the Australian Defence Force. The experience and schedule included many official commitments to media conferences, welcome dinner in PNG and a warm reception by the Australian High Commission. Spending time with the ADF and visiting the Bomana War Cemetery. The highlight of our trip was the school community clinic, where Evie got to share her love for the game with local students. An unforgettable experience and opportunity to represent Australia and make lasting memories on and off the field. #ASGRugbyLeague #PNGTour #RugbyLeagueGirls #TeamAustralia
METASTASIS | For Annabelle Martin’s HSC Dance Major Work, she choreographed a piece that explored the cancer diagnosis and health journey of Jane McGrath. The work was performed Ava Sommerville (Year 11), Aaliah Hancock (Year 9) and Hope Martin (Year 9). Hope is Annabelle’s sister, and plays the character of Jane in the work. Annabelle’s mother forwarded the video of Annabelle’s work to the McGrath Foundation, where it was viewed by Tracy Bevan, ambassador and director of foundation. Tracy was also Jane’s best friend. Tracy contacted Annabelle’s mother, expressing that she was deeply moved by the video of Annabelle’s work. She also expressed that she felt Jane would be thrilled that Annabelle would choose to share her story through dance. It has been very special for Annabelle to receive this message and congratulations from Tracy. This was featured in an article in the Region Illawarra.
