COLONIAL HISTORY | Yesterday our Year 12 History Extension Students visited St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School Bulli to help construct history projects for an upcoming expo. Our students were impressed with the year 6’s exploration and presentation of colonial history. This experience aids in an understanding of the changing perspectives of historical narratives linked to colonialism.

DEBATING | Yesterday thirteen students from Year 7 to Year 10 travelled to Edmund Rice College to participate in the Lumen Christi Debating Day. The event showcased the amazing talent and debating skills from both schools. Topics debated included “AI causes more harm than good”, “we regret the use of participation awards”, and “we should lower the voting age”. Students participated in one prepared debate and two impromptu debates, delivering persuasive arguments and demonstrating their excellent public speaking skills. Overall it was a successful day for St Mary's students winning 7 out of 12 debates. Both schools displayed excellent teamwork and supported one another throughout the day. #debating #edmundricecollege #lumenchristidebatingday
